The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the South Region for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at Hotel Monaco in Philadelphia. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, CEO and Founder, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at The Continental Mid-town's Rooftop Lounge and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including Bank & Bourbon and Sampan Restaurant.

The Siegfried Group is excited about Scott Alves, Chelé Cary, Paul Lunkes, Christian Rodriguez and Marie-France LaFortune joining the Firm.

Scott Alves, CPA
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Houston Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to Siegfried from KPMG, where he gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus in the energy, printing and oil and gas industries. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting as well as his graduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Scott utilizes his strong leadership skills to sustain and foster team spirit by maintaining a positive attitude in the toughest situations. His analytical ability and mental agility permit him to diagnose and tackle issues under any circumstance. Scott says, "The ability to work in different industries all while taking on a variety of financial roles to provide excellent client service is the reason why I was excited to join The Siegfried Group." 

In his free time, Scott keeps busy with friends and sports. He is an avid Montreal sports fan and loves to watch a Montreal Canadiens game whenever possible. He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He has already planned a few outings in Houston for when they come to visit! 

Chelé Cary, CPA
Chelé is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Houston Market as a Manager. She most recently spent two and a half years as the Controller of a medical lab and previously as an Assurance Manager at EY where she worked in oil and gas, as well as healthcare. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in accounting from the University of Miami in Florida.

Chelé is an enthusiastic team player and thrives in changing environments. Chelé says, "I joined Siegfried because I want to work with professionals that challenge me and who I can learn from, both on the client and Firm side."

In her free time, Chelé loves to stay active and be outside as much as possible. She recently relocated to Houston from Denver and enjoys exploring her new city. She loves running on the bayou, playing tennis and is an avid Crossfitter. She has participated in two Tough Mudders and is hoping to do a third in the upcoming year. She is looking forward to traveling back to Colorado to snowboard in the near future.

Paul Lunkes, CPA
Paul is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Houston Market as a Director. He comes to Siegfried with four years of public accounting and ten years of industry experience, most recently with private equity. He received his Bachelors in Accounting from Central Washington University and his MBA from Washington State University.

Paul's innovative and tactile approach to solving problems, coupled with his desire to bring out the best in his team makes him a distinctive presence in the workplace. Paul says, "The challenge of taking on new client projects and working alongside intelligent, dedicated professionals is why I wanted to be a part of Siegfried."

In his free time, Paul stays active through sport and travel. He enjoys motorcycling and sport fishing. He also enjoys restoring antique firearms. He plans to maintain his active lifestyle wherever his work travels take him.  

Christian Rodriguez
Christian joins the Houston Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to The Siegfried Group from KPMG, where he gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus on the oil and gas industry. He received this Bachelors in Accounting and his Masters of Accountancy from the University of Alabama.

Christian's passion for teamwork and his innovative mindset, along with his mental agility, brings individuals together by inspiring them to bring their best and showing them that by working together any goal can be accomplished. Christian says, "The challenge of working with many different intelligent people and the variety of experiences one can gain is why I wanted to be a part of Siegfried."

In his free time, Christian stays active through sports, music, and travel. He is an avid college football fan and travels back to his alma mater once or twice a year for football games. He also enjoys playing volleyball and road biking, playing and producing music and travelling around the world.

Marie-France Lafortune, CPA, CA
Marie-France is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Houston Market as a Senior Associate. She comes to Siegfried from CAE, a public company manufacturing aircraft simulators, where she has acted as an Accounting Standard Specialist. Previously, Marie-France has worked at KPMG in audit where she gained experience in several industries including manufacturing, real estate and construction. She recently relocated from Montreal, where she completed her Bachelor's degree, as well as her Specialized Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at HEC Montreal.

Marie-France's determination leads to exceptional and impeccably executed tasks that are delivered efficiently and effectively. By supporting and coaching her teammates, she helps them reach their full potential which fosters excellent team harmony. Marie-France says "I am delighted to join The Siegfried Group where I will have the chance to work with Professionals on interesting projects. I am looking forward to adding value to my clients using my results-driven approach."

In her free time, Marie-France stays active volunteering within her community. She was involved in several non-profit organizations while living in Montreal and hopes to continue in her new city. She also loves travelling, spending time with her family and friends and playing several sports.
