The Systems Group Launches Systems Cool Air Solutions, A New Division Dedicated to Industrial HVAC for the Steel Industry

New division provides purpose-built HVAC installations, maintenance, and 24/7 emergency service exclusively for steel mills and metal related industrial facilities

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Systems Group (TSG), a family-owned group of companies serving the steel industry since 1970, today announced the launch of Systems Cool Air Solutions, a new division dedicated to providing industrial HVAC services exclusively for steel mills and metal related industrial facilities.

Systems Cool Air Solutions will offer comprehensive HVAC capabilities including new installations, preventive maintenance programs, and 24/7 emergency response — all designed specifically for the extreme demands of steel mill environments. The division will be led by Ted Smith as General Manager and Kyle Elkins as Sales Director.

Smith brings more than 30 years of industrial HVAC leadership to the role, having served as Chief Operating Officer at multiple leading industrial HVAC companies. During his tenure, he oversaw HVAC operations, field teams, and project execution for steel mills and heavy industrial facilities across the Southeast. Elkins, a University of Arkansas graduate, joins as Sales Director after building a track record in business development and contract negotiation in the industrial HVAC space. Together, they bring deep expertise in the unique challenges of keeping steel mill environments climate-controlled.

The new division marks TSG's eighth operating company and further expands the organization's ability to serve as a single-source partner for steel producers. Cool Air Solutions joins TSG's existing divisions — Spray-Cooled, Plant Services, Clean Air (Industrial Air Filtration), Refractory Solutions, Contracting, Fab & Machine, and Engineering — to provide the most comprehensive suite of steel mill services under one roof.

Cool Air Solutions' service offerings include control room and motor control center (MCC) climate systems, offices, overhead crane cab HVAC and pressurization, custom ductwork and sheet metal fabrication, ventilation and exhaust systems, building automation and controls, and industrial refrigeration systems. The division will also offer comprehensive preventive maintenance programs designed to maximize equipment uptime in harsh industrial conditions.

The launch creates significant cross-division synergies within the TSG family of companies. Clean Air's SMAC (Self-Maintaining Air Cleaner) industrial filtration projects pair naturally with HVAC work in the same mill environment.
