The Worcester Economic Club Announces Guest Speaker List for 2015-2016
WORCESTER, Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Worcester Economic Club has released their 2015–2016 roster of guest speakers. The first guest is Friendly's CEO, John Maguire, who will speak at the College of the Holy Cross on October 1, 2015. He will be the 539th guest speaker hosted by the Worcester Economic Club, a group that provides networking opportunities for local economists, educators, and business leaders.
"We anticipate great things from this year's guest speakers. They are experienced business leaders who will certainly have valuable insight to share with the local Worcester business community," said the WEC president, Attorney Richard A. Cella. "The WEC looks forward to sharing in and learning from Mr. Maguire's extensive management experience."
John Maguire has been in the food and beverage industry for several decades. At 26, Maguire accepted a management role at Au Bon Pain, where he facilitated the delivery of salads, juice, and baked goods to locations unable to support a kitchen. He then moved to Panera Bread, where he successfully climbed the executive ladder for 19 years. In 2012, Maguire became CEO of Friendly's, where he now oversees the company and its collection of signature sandwiches, ice creams, and restaurants.
Other guest speakers for 2015–2016 include Fortune's Nina Easton, BNY Mellon's Richard B. Hoey, and Market Score Board Report's Ron Insana. You can purchase guest passes for one or more of this season's events, or a membership for access to all events at a discounted price (and a $100 savings).
