Thierry Daucourt Joins XL Group as COO of the International Property & Casualty Insurance Business

LONDON, May 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- XL Group (NYSE: XL) today announced the appointment of Thierry Daucourt as Chief Operating Officer of its International P&C Insurance business. In his role Mr. Daucourt will be responsible for supporting the unit's Chief Executive, Jason Harris, in the ongoing development and execution of its strategy and main policies to drive expansion, financial performance and efficiencies across the region. XL Group's International region includes all markets in Europe, Asia Pacific and Iberia & Latin America. Mr. Daucourt will report to Jason Harris, Chief Executive of the International P&C Insurance business and will be based in Zurich.

Thierry Daucourt brings over 30 years' experience in the insurance industry to his new role. He joins XL Group from Chubb Insurance Company of Europe, where his last role was as Regional Manager Southern Europe. Since 1998, during his tenure with Chubb Europe, he progressed through various management roles. Prior, he was with Zurich Financial Services and also held various positions with Winterthur Insurance, including Head of the International Division, based in France. He is a Swiss national, married with two children.
