The winning entries were submitted from families across the country, from Olathe, Kansas, to Charlotte, North Carolina, to Dousman, Wisconsin.
Highly charismatic TV personality and award-winning interior designer Anitra Mecadon will work hand-in-hand this summer with these winners of a media room, bathroom and garage renovation. Mecadon made the official announcement today on AskforPurple.com, which is where the winners will document their individual projects from start to finish.

The Oliphant family wants to turn their basement into a high-tech family room. Mecadon plans to visit Tim Oliphant, his wife and three young boys – including one just born on July 18 – to see firsthand how she can design a perfect space where they will spend countless hours.
"With two boys and a new baby brother, the Oliphants need a room where everyone can have fun and get loud downstairs without disturbing the new baby in the nursery upstairs," said Mecadon, who is expecting her first child in the fall. Mecadon sees great potential for the space, since she has the ability to use a nearby closet to expand the bathroom, using PURPLE® XP® drywall that's mold-, moisture- and mildew-resistant, along with PermaBase PLUS® Cement Board for use behind the tile in the critical wet areas such as tubs and showers.

The Lindlau family's cluttered garage resembles many others in America – except that it's bigger and includes a makeshift rock-climbing wall used by Lindlau's son and daughter who are avid ice and rock climbers.
