Independent jury of philanthropy, journalism and creator-economy leaders will select 2026 honorees; nominations are open to creators on any platform
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tiltify, the platform behind more than $500 million in creator-driven charitable fundraising worldwide, today launched the Creator Impact Honors, a new annual program recognizing creators whose charitable work produces measurable impact for the causes they support, regardless of audience size.
The program will be judged by an independent jury of eight leaders from philanthropy, journalism, and the creator economy: Glenn Gamboa, Philanthropy News Editor at The Associated Press; Herman "Art" Taylor, President and CEO of AFP Global; Tim Sarrantonio, Chair of the Fundraising Effectiveness Project; Monica Khan, Senior Advisor on the creator economy at McKinsey & Company; Matt Fitzgerald, co-founder of Create on Purpose and the force behind #TeamTrees, #TeamSeas, and #TeamWater; Mary Kish, Head of Community at Twitch; Matthew Patrick, the creator MatPat, whose campaigns have raised nearly $7 million for charity; and Shane and Hannah Burcaw, whose channel Squirmy and Grubs pairs disability advocacy with a nonprofit that has donated over $1.5 million in adaptive equipment.
Tiltify will administer the program and provide impact data to the jury, but will not have a vote in selecting the winners.
Nominations open today at https://creatorimpacthonors.com/ and close September 24, 2026. Anyone can nominate a creator, campaign or community from any platform and any registered charitable cause, including their own work, and creators do not need to have fundraised through Tiltify to be eligible.
Creators have become an increasingly important gateway to charitable giving, with livestreams, videos and online communities mobilizing money, volunteers and attention for nonprofits in ways traditional fundraising often cannot.
But creator philanthropy is still largely measured by the numbers that are easiest to see: followers, views and dollars raised. The Creator Impact Honors are designed to measure what those numbers don't capture.
"The average creator campaign on Tiltify raises $1,300, and a lot of the creators behind those campaigns finish wondering if it mattered," said Michael Wasserman, co-founder and CEO of Tiltify. "It did. That's about 30 new donors a charity didn't have yesterday, and most of them gave because someone they trust asked them to. We built the Honors to recognize that kind of impact, not just the creators with the biggest audiences. What matters is what happened because that creator showed up."
The program includes 20 competitive honors across six impact categories, plus a curated Creators to Watch list featuring roughly a dozen emerging creators. The top honor is Impact Creator of the Year. Other categories include Storytelling for Impact, Small-But-Mighty Fundraiser, Livestream Impact Award, Collaborative Campaign of the Year, and Behind-the-Scenes Impact Award, recognizing the mods, producers, and teammates whose unseen work made a campaign succeed.
Most categories will combine available data with the jury's judgment. Two categories will be decided by public vote.
Every nominee must meet the same baseline: fundraising must be tied to a legitimate, named charitable organization or cause, and campaigns cannot contain materially misleading claims about where funds went.
"For most of my career, accountability in charity meant evaluating the institutions that receive the money," said Art Taylor, who spent 24 years as President and CEO of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance before joining AFP Global. "Creators have become a front door to giving for millions of people, and that means they deserve the same rigor we bring to any serious charitable effort, real scrutiny of outcomes, and real recognition when the impact is there. I joined this jury because it judges what actually happened for the cause, not how big the audience was."
Eligible campaigns must have taken place between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. Following the nomination period, the jury will review submissions and impact data, select finalists, and determine the 2026 Creator Impact Class. Public voting for the two fan-voted categories will take place during the finalist period.
The full Creator Impact Class of 2026 will be announced October 27th.
