TMS and Com Hem Enter Into Entertainment Metadata Agreement
On® Entertainment Metadata to Power Next-Generation Pay TV Experience Offered by Sweden's Largest Cable Operator
CHICAGO, Dec. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TMS, the leading provider of entertainment metadata, and Com Hem, the leading supplier of triple-play services in Sweden, have entered into a new agreement under which Com Hem will use TMS' best-in-class On® Entertainment metadata in its next generation entertainment guides. TMS data will enable Com Hem to offer its subscribers guides which facilitate seamless search and discovery of linear and on-demand television programming. The user experience powered by TiVo will be consistent across the Com Hem guides on TV, tablet, smart-phone and computer devices; a standardized user interface will maximize subscriber satisfaction and encourage increased video consumption.
Com Hem offers pay television, high-speed broadband and fixed telephony services to more than 1.7 million households in Sweden. The company will use TMS' On Entertainment metadata including linear TV schedules, VOD program services, TV Showcards, Celebrity Profiles, Image Gallery and more. Together, this rich, deep and connected data will enable unified search, image-driven navigation and smart content recommendations. TMS Unique IDs will enable the seamless connection of multiple datasets and allow Com Hem subscribers to find and watch all the entertainment content they'll enjoy most, regardless of the source.
While TMS currently provides entertainment metadata to customers around the globe, this marks the company's entry into the Swedish market.
