TOKIO, 8. April 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Die Stadtverwaltung von Tokio veranstaltete am Samstag, dem 29. März 2025, die Endrunde von zwei wichtigen Modewettbewerben – Next Fashion Designer of Tokyo 2025 (NFDT) und Sustainable Fashion Design Award 2025 (SFDA). Die Endbewertung erfolgte in Form einer Modenschau, bei der die Kreativität und das Potenzial aufstrebender Designer gefeiert wurden.

„NFDT2025" ist ein Wettbewerb, der darauf abzielt, junge Designer, die in Tokio leben oder studieren, zu entdecken und zu fördern und ihnen die Möglichkeit zu geben, sich zu international erfolgreichen Talenten zu entwickeln. „SFDA2025" hingegen strebt die Einführung innovativer Modestücke an, die traditionelle japanische Materialien wie Kimonostoffe für ein globales Publikum neu interpretieren.

In den Jurys der einzelnen Wettbewerbe saßen einige der bekanntesten Persönlichkeiten der Modeindustrie. Für NFDT gehörten Kunihiko Morinaga, Designer von ANREALAGE und regelmäßiger Gast bei der Pariser Modewoche, und Yusuke Takahashi, Creative Director von CFCL, zusammen mit sechs weiteren führenden Persönlichkeiten der Branche dem Gremium an. Dem SFDA-Gremium gehörten neben sechs weiteren renommierten Experten Norbert Leuret, President von LVMH Japan, und Hideaki Shikama, Designer von „Children of the discordance" und Stammgast bei der Mailänder Modewoche, an.

Insgesamt wurden in beiden Wettbewerben 16 herausragende Arbeiten ausgewählt, die in verschiedenen Kategorien die höchsten Auszeichnungen erhielten:

Die 16 siegreichen Designer erhalten Unterstützung, die von der Beratung bei der Markenentwicklung bis hin zu Möglichkeiten für internationale Präsentationen reicht, einschließlich der potenziellen Teilnahme an der Pariser Modewoche.

Die Stadtverwaltung von Tokio hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Mode- und Bekleidungsindustrie zu fördern, um Tokio neben Paris, Mailand, New York und London als führende Modemetropole der Welt zu positionieren. Eine Reihe strategischer Initiativen ist im Gange, und weitere sind für die Zukunft geplant.
