Tom Orr Joins Avista Healthcare Partners as a Strategic Executive

NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Avista Healthcare Partners ("Avista"), a leading private equity firm focused exclusively on healthcare, today announced that Tom Orr, a leader with deep expertise in medical device contract manufacturing, injection molding, and highly regulated manufacturing environments, has joined the firm as a Strategic Executive.

Mr. Orr joins a distinguished group of Avista Strategic Executives, representing a network of experienced healthcare industry executives who work alongside the firm throughout the investment lifecycle. As Avista invests across its subsectors, the firm leverages the expertise of its Strategic Executives, who each bring deep industry relationships and operating experience.

Mr. Orr has a 20+ years track record helping healthcare businesses accelerate growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and execute complex operational transformations. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Bentec Medical, an Avista Healthcare Partners IV portfolio company focused on the manufacturing of complex, silicone-based medical device components and finished goods for OEM customers and healthcare providers. In this role, he works closely with management to support the company's strategic growth. Prior to joining the Bentec Board, Mr. Orr served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaway Plastics Engineering, a contract manufacturer supporting medical, aerospace, and industrial companies. During his tenure, Seaway significantly increased its scale and profitability through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Prior to Seaway, Mr. Orr served as President of Pöppelmann Plastics USA.
