"Every year we carefully examine the trends in the industry and collaborate with key experts to build an agenda that is content-rich and robust, with discussions led by top experts in the grain and oilseed sectors," said Philippe de Laperouse, chair of the summit. Sustainability is one of the themes that will be highlighted at this year's event through presentations entitled Sustainability in the Global Ag Supply Chain and Implications of Water and Other Resource Scarcity on Global Agricultural Production.
An 11-member national advisory board helps steer the content for the Oilseed & Grain Trade Summit. Members like Eric Jackson, President Ag Services, Conservis, who, for the past six years, has helped shape content and identify and connect with speakers. Jackson said that creating connections is a key part of the value of the conference. "There isn't another event exactly like the Oilseed & Grain Trade Summit where all members of the food chain can come together to learn, network and develop business relationships."
Another advisory board member, Harry True, formerly Director Commodity Operations, Frito Lay, will moderate a panel discussion addressing Trends in Vegetable Oil Usage for Food, Fuel and Industrial Applications. Commenting on his presentation, True said, "It is a responsibility and economic mission of seed development operatives, oilseed processors, and other downstream users to maintain and increase existing uses of vegetable oils and to seek to improve traits and properties to develop new uses for this asset that will improve the well-being of all mankind."
Joining Jackson and True on the board are others from leading organizations such as AgriNetworks, INTL FCStone, Global Aquaculture Alliance and Hillshire Brands. Learn more at www.oilseedandgraintrade.com.
