NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- After much speculation, golf entertainment leader Topgolf Entertainment Group today officially unveiled Nashville as its first location planned in Tennessee. Topgolf® will break ground in the next few weeks with a projected opening in the first quarter of 2017.
Topgolf Nashville will be located on 13 acres at Cowan Street and the Jefferson Street Bridge in east Nashville, right on the Cumberland River and slightly northeast of downtown.
Topgolf is the only entertainment center of its kind, offering competitive golfing games for all ages and skill levels and advanced technology to track the accuracy and distance of players' shots. Those who just want to relax can enjoy the upscale, laid-back ambiance that boasts more than 230 high-definition flat-screen TVs and an extensive food and beverage menu.
"Nashville is one of the most exciting, fast-growing cities in the country," said Topgolf Vice President of Real Estate Development Zach Shor. "It's a major destination for sports, entertainment and music, which makes it a perfect market for Topgolf. Our location will be less than a mile north of Nissan Stadium, so this will give football fans another place to celebrate on game days."
The new three-level location will include up to 3,000 square feet of private event space and 102 climate-controlled hitting bays that can host up to six players at one time. Shor estimates that Topgolf Nashville will serve approximately 450,000 visitors in its first year of operation. Nearly half of all Topgolf guests describe themselves as "non-golfers."
Topgolf's economic impact in its local communities is remarkable, creating 450 full- and part-time jobs at each location and serving as an anchor tenant that tends to attract other popular franchises to the area. In fact, its economic output in Nashville alone is expected to exceed $264.5 million over a 10-year-period, according to a third-party audit.
