IRVINE, Calif., March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba — www.telecom.toshiba.com) today announced that its VIPedge® Application Service has won a 2015 Cloud Computing Product of the Year Award from TMC, a global, integrated media company, as presented by Cloud Computing magazine. The award honors vendors with the most innovative, useful, and beneficial cloud products and services that have been brought to market in the past year.
"TMC is proud to recognize Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service as a recipient of the Cloud Computing Product of the Year Award," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "Toshiba is being honored for its achievement in bringing innovation and excellence to the market while leveraging the latest technology trends."
"We are honored to receive the 2015 Cloud Computing Product of the Year Award for Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service, which brings advanced VIPedge features to users of Toshiba's Strata® CIX and CTX systems," said Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division.
VIPedge Application Service Brings Advanced Features to Users of Toshiba's Strata CIX and CTX Legacy Platforms
Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service brings Toshiba I-VoIP SIP Service and advanced cloud-based applications, including Unified Communications, Mobility and Unified Messaging applications, to users of Toshiba's Strata CIX and legacy CTX business telephone systems as a subscription service, with minimal or no capital expenditure.
Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service delivers consistent features in a multi-site network for distributed Toshiba business phone systems, regardless if they are on-site systems, such as Toshiba's Strata CIX, legacy Strata CTX, or Toshiba's cloud-based VIPedge solution.
Toshiba's I-VoIP SIP Service is also included with the VIPedge Application Service, enabling users to use SIP trunks for their telephone service or as a supplement to their existing service. This includes Direct-Inward-Dialing (DID) numbers for as many users as required. DID numbers enable users to take full advantage of the Unified Communications applications. Using Toshiba I-VoIP SIP Service also improves the ease of installation of SIP trunk installation and provides survivability if the system loses power or if the Internet goes down.
The VIPedge Application Service enables organizations to budget communications as a monthly operating expense instead of an upfront capital expenditure. With low, per-user pricing, applications are delivered via the cloud as a subscription service, making it affordable for Toshiba's Strata CIX and CTX customers to keep up with current technology, without having to move to a new platform. Strata CTX customers will require a processor, firmware and IP card upgrade to Strata CIX while Strata CIX users will only require minimal or no upgrade.
With Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service, Toshiba customers with multiple offices can now take advantage of a Hybrid Cloud Solution by networking cloud-based and on-site solutions while taking advantage of feature transparency and applications across all locations.
The VIPedge Application also allows users to affordably add staff or new locations in the future with the flexibility to expand on demand. For traveling and work-at-home employees, Toshiba's VIPedge Application Service gives them the same robust communications applications as the in-house staff, helping improve communications between employees, customers, vendors and others.
Global buyers rely on TMC's content-driven marketplaces to make purchase decisions and navigate markets. This presents branding, thought leadership and lead generation opportunities for vendors/sellers.
