TOTAL Selects PipelineManager® as Operational Management Tool
TOTAL upgrades to PipelineManager as part of the FUKA Pipeline Management System upgrade, establishing PipelineManager as the primary system to forecast the arrival specification of gas.
HOUSTON, April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Solutions International, Inc. (ESI), a world-leading supplier of software solutions for oil and gas pipelines, announced today that TOTAL has selected PipelineManager® for the upgrade of the FUKA Pipeline Management System.
The PipelineManager solution provides the St. Fergus Control Room with a dynamic compositional model of the FUKA pipeline. PipelineManager allows the Control Room to forecast the arrival specification of gas. PipelineManager performs key functions for Total:
- A safety function, through monitoring of the pipeline High Pressure/Low Pressure interface.
- Allows operational team to run 'What-if' Scenarios to optimize inventory & pipeline performance
- Provides a system that will be capable of expanding with TOTAL's requirements beyond 2014 to include the SIRGE Tie-in for the new West of Shetland operational hub.
