Transforming Age and Full Life Care announce affiliation

SEATTLE, Sept. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, one of the most established not-for-profit senior living organizations, Transforming Age, announced an affiliation with one of Washington State's only adult day health and in-home care not-for-profit organizations, Full Life Care. Their complementary skills and resources will expand the impact of both organizations.

The two organizations will continue to run as their own 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. The new relationship will operate under the Transforming Age board, which now also includes a former member of the Full Life board.

Transforming Age is a 60-year-old senior living organization that is committed to five key areas: housing, business services, technology, consumer services, and philanthropy. The affiliation with Full Life gives it the ability to deepen its commitment to consumer services through home care and adult day services and extends its ability to serve a wider economic spectrum of seniors. It currently operates senior living communities in Washington and Minnesota, and through its research arm, online advocacy forums, and strategic affiliations such as this, works to create innovative solutions that grow its impact and enhance its mission to help older adults live independent, purposeful lives.

Full Life Care is skilled at providing adult day health, home care, and a spectrum of community-based support. Since the 1970s, it has helped thousands of individuals preserve their dignity and avoid living in isolation. The affiliation expands its ability to reach more seniors and deepen its residential resources and services.

With a long history of collaboration, Full Life Care's Executive Director, Nora Gibson, noted that "it makes so much sense for us to formally align with Transforming Age right now."

Every day 10,000 adults turn 65 yet the number of organizations and government agencies that are increasing their spending and focus on this population continues to shrink.
