Tricoci University of Beauty Culture Establishes First-Ever Articulation Agreement with Proviso Township District 209
New partnership creates career-focused pathway for Proviso high school students to gain hands-on beauty industry training while earning high school credit
CHICAGO, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tricoci University of Beauty Culture (TUBC) has entered into a new articulation agreement with Proviso Township District 209, creating a direct pathway for high school students to gain hands-on experience in the beauty industry while earning high school credit and progressing toward professional licensure.
The Vocational-Technical Contract for Instructional Program in Cosmetology was finalized on August 1, 2026 and took effect on August 17, 2026. The agreement is available to eligible juniors and seniors within Proviso Township District 209 and is offered through TUBC's Chicago Northwest campus.
Through the two-year program, students will receive instruction and hands-on training from licensed beauty professionals in cosmetology and barbering. The program provides students with credit toward licensing requirements while introducing them to potential career opportunities in the beauty industry before they graduate from high school.
"Career readiness is about giving students opportunities to explore their interests and develop real-world skills before they graduate," said Larry Foster, Chief Operating Officer at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. "This partnership with Proviso Township District 209 creates a meaningful bridge between high school and postsecondary career training, giving students a strong foundation as they consider their next steps and future careers."
The partnership was initiated by Proviso Township District 209, which approached Tricoci University to explore opportunities to create a clearer pathway for students interested in postsecondary education and careers in the beauty and wellness industry. Site visits were conducted as part of the process of establishing the agreement.
The articulation agreement supports career readiness by combining classroom instruction with hands-on training and giving students an early introduction to professional opportunities in the beauty industry. The pathway can also help reduce duplication of coursework and potential costs while creating a smoother transition from high school into postsecondary education or the workforce.
"Students benefit from being able to experience the beauty industry firsthand while they are still in high school," said Angela Howard, Regional Director of Admissions and Education Partnership at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. "This program allows students to build foundational skills, learn from licensed professionals and begin working toward their licensing goals. Most importantly, it gives them the opportunity to see what a career in the beauty industry can look like and make informed decisions about their future."
Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to continue their education at Tricoci University or pursue opportunities within the beauty industry.
The Proviso Township District 209 agreement marks the first articulation agreement between the district and Tricoci University. TUBC plans to explore opportunities to establish similar partnerships with additional high schools and districts.
