Walter brings nearly 20 years of technical expertise, operational leadership and cross-domain experience from York Space Systems, Aero Gearbox International and Rolls-Royce
CENTENNIAL, Colo., Sept. 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- True Anomaly Inc., the defense technology company building advanced systems for space superiority, today announced the appointment of Sarah Walter as Chief Operating Officer. Walter brings nearly two decades of leadership in aerospace, defense, and advanced manufacturing. At True Anomaly, Sarah will lead the company's cross-functional strategy and execution across spacecraft engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, programs, and mission operations teams, ensuring disciplined and efficient execution on all efforts that support the delivery of spacecraft and software systems.
"Sarah is a standout leader in the aerospace industry. She brings the right expertise to leverage our high-speed tempo and accelerate our growth into an enduring prime contractor," said Even Rogers, CEO and co-founder of True Anomaly. "Sarah will ensure that our operational capabilities match the ambitions of our mission, combining the disciplined systems engineering, supply chain rigor, and quality standards she honed at Rolls-Royce with the execution speed and adaptability she proved at York. Sarah will be a force multiplier for True Anomaly's mission success by creating the operational environment in which our teams can consistently deliver breakthrough space superiority capabilities."
As COO, Sarah will align engineering operations across spacecraft and software programs, ensure success of upcoming Mission X-3 and VICTUS HAZE missions, and will architect the operational framework to deliver complex systems at scale, on schedule, and with the performance and agility required for space control missions. Sarah will not just manage operations—she will shape the culture, tempo, and execution standards that define True Anomaly's long-term competitive edge.
"True Anomaly's mission is both bold and decisive, delivering on a gap in capabilities that enable space superiority," said Walter. "The company is at a critical inflection point with considerable growth while establishing manufacturing capabilities. My full focus will be on the important upcoming missions we have to execute. I feel privileged to join a fantastic team and am excited to lead and support the company on this journey."
Walter joins the company as it enters a new phase of growth and operational complexity. Following its $260M Series C raise in April, True Anomaly is scaling to 250 employees by the end of 2025, will continue to build out its latest manufacturing facilities in Centennial, CO and Long Beach, CA, and will accelerate development, test, and validation of its spacecraft and software systems.
Before joining True Anomaly, Walter served as Vice President of Engineering at York Space Systems, where she led a sixfold organizational expansion, delivering 3x production capacity, and launching a dozen satellites to orbit. She has also held executive leadership roles at Aero Gearbox International and Rolls-Royce, where she implemented transformative engineering, supply chain, and product development strategies resulting in significant performance, cost, and delivery improvements.
