LOS ANGELES, March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the TSC Alliance® announced its 24th Annual Comedy for a Cure® will be held Sunday, April 6, once again at the historic Vibiana in Los Angeles. The event brings together top comedians and entertainers to raise funds for those impacted by tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), a rare genetic disease that causes tumors to form in vital organs. The event is presented by Headline Sponsor Jazz Pharmaceuticals.
"Our hearts go out to those in Southern California who were impacted by the wildfires earlier this year, particularly those living with TSC and developmental disabilities. It was important to the TSC community to come together, to galvanize and to share an evening of laughter and hope at our signature event, Comedy for a Cure," said Kari Luther Rosbeck, TSC Alliance President & CEO. "TSC does not stop and adds complexity to the current situation. That is why the work of the TSC Alliance is more important now than ever. Since 2002, this event has raised more than $6 million to further TSC research, offer expanded support programs and increase awareness about the disease."
Performers include headliner Tom Papa, one of the top comedic voices in the country finding success in film, TV, radio and podcasts as well as on the live stage. Tom will be joined by Ron Pearson, a true triple threat as a comedian, actor and world-renowned juggler, best known for his role as Doug Ricketts on Malcolm and Eddie. The show will be emceed by Gary Cannon, a comedian with more than 25 years of warm-up, stand-up and corporate entertainment, who's currently the audience warm-up comic for the Jennifer Hudson daytime talk show and the hit Fox reality competition show The Masked Singer.
The event is also supported by the Comedian Committee, a group of dedicated celebrities who volunteer their time to help produce the show and recruit performers. Committee members include Jim O'Heir (Chair), Alonzo Bodden, Shane Brady, Mo Collins, Wendy Liebman, Melissa Peterman and Craig Shoemaker.
"We at Jazz are thrilled to once again be the headline sponsor for the 2025 Comedy for a Cure event—partnering with the TSC Alliance is invaluable as we help redefine possibilities and transform the lives of those who live with rare and complex conditions, such as TSC," said Ryan Bovia, Franchise Head, Epilepsy and Movement Disorders at Jazz Pharmaceuticals. "Harnessing the connective power of laughter deepens our commitment to raising awareness, inspiring advocacy and driving impact for those affected by this challenging disease."
Comedy for a Cure also offers the opportunity to pay tribute to those who have made significant impacts in the fight against TSC. This year, the Huddleston Family will receive the Courage in Leadership Award for their fearless mission to increase awareness of TSC and raise funds to drive research through hosting events at their Irwindale Speedway, engaging the NASCAR and celebrity community and providing peer support to others living with TSC. Their support is inspired by their daughter, Hailey.
Greg Grunberg and 'Talk About It!' will be honored with the TSC Champion Award for supporting Comedy for a Cure since 2008 and for raising unprecedented awareness of epilepsy. Greg co-founded the 'Talk About It!' Company, which activates celebrities, industry and the general public with a goal to get everyone talking about key issues that need most public attention. 'Talk About it!' originally focused on epilepsy, as Greg's oldest son lives with epilepsy.

About tuberous sclerosis complex
Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare genetic disease that causes tumors to grow in different organs and can impair their function, primarily the brain, heart, kidneys, skin, eyes and lungs. Changes in the brain caused by TSC have the biggest impact on quality of life—from seizures and developmental delays to intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges and autism. In fact, TSC is the leading genetic cause of epilepsy, including infantile spasms. A strong correlation also exists between TSC and autism—an estimated 40-50% of individuals with TSC have autism spectrum disorder.
