Anti-Union Waste Company Pushing Workers Closer to Strike
LACEY, Wash., June 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of Teamsters Local 252 at Republic Services will hold a practice picket on Tuesday, June 24, at 5 a.m.
Republic Teamsters nationwide are demanding a new contract with substantial raises, improved benefits, and stronger work rules. Practice pickets are also planned for tomorrow in Manteca, Calif.; Cumming, Ga.; Ottawa, Ill.; and Evansville, Ind. The action this week comes on the heels of a practice picket held near Boston earlier in the month.
Republic Teamsters across the country are fully prepared to strike if the company fails to reach a fair agreement, which could cause major disruptions to trash collection.
