TurningPoint Awarded Contract to Deliver New Statewide Local Food Exchange Platform for the State of Maryland

New Local Food Exchange will strengthen Maryland's Farm to School ecosystem by connecting local producers with school districts and state agencies through a modern, cloud-based marketplace.

ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Turning Point Global Solutions (TurningPoint) has been awarded a contract with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to design and develop a statewide Local Food Exchange (LFE) solution. The web-enabled platform establishes a modern, state-led model connecting local farmers with Local Education Agencies (LEAs), schools, and participating state agencies in support of Maryland's Farm to School program.

Maryland's LFE will provide a centralized, user-friendly marketplace supporting producer registration and profiles, product availability, product search and selection, ordering, fulfillment status, invoicing, notifications, and administrative oversight. The solution will be deployed within MSDE's AWS cloud environment and designed to meet applicable State security, accessibility, and technology standards.

TurningPoint is executing a phased Agile approach focusing on rapidly delivering the core capabilities of the Local Food Exchange while supporting MSDE's implementation, testing, training, and operational readiness objectives.
