Turtle Wax & The Chicago Wolves Make Power Play To Raise $25,000 For Chicagoland First Responders And Their Families

CHICAGO, Feb. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Turtle Wax and the Chicago Wolves are once again partnering up to show their appreciation for the brave men and women of Chicagoland's emergency response teams by launching their annual campaign to raise $25,000 for the 100 Club of Chicago.

"As a 30-year supporter of the 100 Club of Chicago, I have seen how these incredible first responders risk their lives so that we can be safe and secure in our homes, workplaces and communities.  The money we raise helps provide for the families of first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty." said Denis Healy, co-chairman, Turtle Wax and executive board vice president, 100 Club of Chicago.  "We are thankful to the entire Chicago Wolves organization and their fans for their continued partnership in this important fundraising endeavor." 

Chicago's Finest Face Off to Raise Funds
To kick-off the campaign and help reach the program goal of raising $25,000 for the 100 Club of Chicago, Turtle Wax has pledged $20,000 to the cause. The brand and the Chicago Wolves are asking the community to help aid in this noble cause by supporting the Chicago Fire and Police Hockey Tournament at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville from March 8 – 10, 2017.

Chicago Wolves First Responders Night 
In addition to the donation to the 100 Club, Turtle Wax is contributing 2,000 tickets to first responders and their families to enjoy the First Responders Night game at Allstate Arena on April 15, as the Chicago Wolves take on the Charlotte Checkers in their last home-game of the season.

Wayne Messmer, Chicago Wolves senior executive vice president, is among those who have benefitted from the expertise of first responders. When Messmer was shot in the throat during a robbery attempt on Chicago's near west side in the early morning on April 9, 1994, the Chicago Fire Department's Henry Hugel and Bill Steiner rushed to his aid.

"Without the incredible work of first responders Bill and Henry, it is possible that I would not be here today," said Messmer.  "Clearly, Turtle Wax and the Wolves share a mutual passion for supporting first responders, and we look forward to hosting some of Chicago's finest and their families during this special evening to pay tribute to their commitment and bravery."
