CHICAGO, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Turtle Wax, the number one selling brand of car care products in the world, today announced the successful conclusion of the first phase of the disposition of its regional car wash business that had been announced earlier this year.  The Company successfully completed the sale of the majority of its car wash facilities in the Kansas City, Kan. region. 

The Company is now shifting its focus to the second phase of the disposition plan with an emphasis on its Chicago area car wash facilities.  Denis John Healy, Chief Executive Officer of Turtle Wax, stated, "I am very pleased with the year-to-date operating performance of our car wash division, the dedication of our team members and the loyalty of our long-term customers, as well as the achievements in connection with the first phase of our disposition plans.  This will further permit us to increase our focus on our core consumer and professional car care products business."

As during the first phase of the sale process, the remaining facilities continue to operate as normal, hours and services will remain the same and Turtle Wax club cards and gift certificates will continue to be honored.  The purchase of new gift certificates and the renewal of club cards will vary by location, but will be fully honored during the disposition.  Customers are encouraged to ask for details when visiting any Turtle Wax car wash.
