U-Haul and St. Mary's Food Bank Mark 50 Years in Phoenix with Renewed Sponsorship

PHOENIX, Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul International, Inc. is celebrating a golden anniversary with longstanding partner St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance by renewing and expanding its Food Drive Box title sponsorship while making a push to fight hunger in Arizona.
In addition to the Food Box Drive sponsorship. U-Haul will be providing 50,000 meals in honor of St. Mary's 50th year of charitable service to Phoenix. U-Haul is also celebrating its 50th year as a Phoenix-headquartered company after relocating from Portland in 1967.
U-Haul will proudly mark Hunger Action Month on Sept. 19 by presenting St. Mary's with a combined sponsorship check of $17,500, delivering donated items from a two-week company food drive, and having Team Members volunteer their morning to pack emergency food boxes at the St. Mary's warehouse at 2831 N. 31st Ave.

The food drive collection boxes, which incorporate the U-Haul logo, will help collect more than 2.5 million pounds of food for St. Mary's to share with hungry families.
As part of St. Mary's "30 Ways in 30 Days" campaign to alleviate hunger in Arizona, U-Haul is taking its designated day of support on Sept. 19 to ask others to join the fight against hunger by donating food, volunteering or making a financial contribution to St. Mary's at firstfoodbank.org.
Every dollar donated translates to seven pounds of food at St. Mary's, so let the giving begin as the holiday season approaches!
