MIAMISBURG, Ohio, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul adaptive reuse practices are transforming a former sporting goods store into a new facility for do-it-yourself movers in Miamisburg. U-Haul Moving & Storage of Miamisburg is conveniently located at 234 Springboro Pike just off Interstate 75.
The 9.3-acre property includes a 86,857-square-foot building that was previously shared by Dick's® Sporting Goods and Halloween Express®. The property was acquired on March 20 and is currently open while undergoing extensive interior renovations to create a full-service U-Haul store.
"I'm excited about the convenience of this location for the area," general manager Chelsea Chappius said. "I have had many customers tell me they love seeing this space occupied and cleaned up. It's great to be a part of this transformation."
Customers have access to U-Haul truck and trailer rentals as well as moving supplies and boxes in the temporary showroom. When renovations are completed in the next one to two years, the facility will feature 754 storage units including 23 drive-up units, a U-Box warehouse, propane, hitch bays, towing equipment and much more.
Storage units will be split between climate-controlled and humidity-free units and will offer 24-hour access, individual alarms and security locks when the project is complete.
Chappius noted that the Miamisburg store, stationed 10 miles south of Dayton and next to the West Carrollton community, is near large home improvement stores where customers may need truck and trailer rentals to transport their purchases.
