PROVIDENCE, R.I., Sept. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul Company of Rhode Island recently announced that it has expanded the U-Haul network of self-storage locations with the purchase of an existing facility located at 35 Oxford Street in Providence, R.I. The new U-Haul Moving and Storage of Providence at I-95 features one four-story, one two-story and two one-story buildings offering more than 755 storage rooms, with more than 75,011 square feet of net rentable self-storage.
U-Haul Moving and Storage of Providence at I-95 features indoor, temperature-controlled storage as well as outdoor, drive-up storage. The facility also will feature U-Box pods for moving and storage. "We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our presence in Providence and look forward to continuing our long-standing relationships with the local community," stated Pete Olio, president, U-Haul Company of Rhode Island.
"With the new and improved U-Haul self-storage operation, we are better equipped to meet our customers' current and future needs," Olio continued. "Families wanting the finest in moving services can now enjoy increased convenience. Together, we will have the positive effect of reducing the amount of carbon emissions released into the atmosphere," he noted.
U-Haul Moving and Storage of Providence at I-95 will showcase: 24-hour security with electronically controlled access, state-of-the-art digital video surveillance, your lock/your key, FREE use of storage carts, no deposit or administration fees, a convenient credit-card payment plan and available low-cost SafeStor Protection to help safeguard customers' personal possessions.
The eco-friendly store also will be selling a wide variety of environmental packing supplies: boxes made out of recyclable materials, 100 percent biodegradable packing peanuts and moving pads made from recycled denim. Also on site will be a Take a Box/Leave a Box display, which allows customers or anyone in the community to leave moving boxes or unwanted electronics boxes for another customer to reuse for free, instead of throwing them away or recycling them.
Customers who rent a U-Haul moving van, trailer or U-Box portable storage for a one-way move can receive one month of free storage before or after their move.
Customers can rent storage from U-Haul owned storage facilities across the United States and Canada by calling their neighborhood U-Haul center or by visiting uhaul.com or contacting U-Haul Reservations, at 1-800-GO-UHAUL.
