UBM Medica US' ONCOLOGY Launches New Feature Sections on Controversies, Quandaries in Cancer Care
Content addresses key information needs of oncology and hematology specialists
NORWALK, Conn., May 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Medica US today announced the launch of several new feature areas and the redesign of ONCOLOGY, a professional journal for today's busy cancer care physician.
The newly added sections include:
- How an Expert Approaches It: A series in which clinical thought leaders discuss how they handle a difficult tumor type, therapy modality, or treatment complication. In the first of this series, Mary-Ellen Taplin, (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School), a leader in prostate cancer treatment presents Secondary Hormone Therapy for Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer: How an Expert Approaches It.
- Pro/Con: In this series, two experts with opposing views debate current controversies within the field of oncology. This month, Chul Soo Ha, from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Soham Puvvada and Thomas Miller, from the University of Arizona at Tuscon, present opposing viewpoints on the role of radiotherapy in diffusing large B-cell lymphoma.
- Clinical Quandaries: Case reports are selected for their unique nature and used as a starting point for discussion by clinical experts. In May, E. David Crawford (University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, Colorado), an editorial board member for the Journal ONCOLOGY, presents and discusses a case of Rising PSA in a 46-Year-Old Man.
"We are very excited about adding these new features to our editorial line-up," said Sue Beck, Executive Editor of ONCOLOGY. "They bring a fresh perspective to our content, while still allowing us to continue in the tradition of covering practice-changing developments and highlighting key issues that are the most helpful to oncologists on the frontlines of cancer care."
These new features will also be available on ONCOLOGY's companion site, CancerNetwork.com.
