UBM Mexico Donates £150k Towards Mexico Earthquake Relief and Recovery

NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM plc, the world's largest pure-play business-to-business events organizer and marketing services organization, announces that in in the wake of Mexico's recent earthquakes, their UBM Mexico division has pledged their support by donating £150k to the Carlos Slim Foundation, who in turn has agreed to match 5 to 1 all the donations to the reconstruction of Mexico. UBM Mexico is committed to helping these communities recover and rebuild and partnering with the Carlos Slim Foundation, whose social programs have benefited more than 45.5 million people of all ages by increasing their quality of life, improving their skills and abilities, and helping them achieve more and better opportunities.

The Carlos Slim Foundation will utilize this donation towards the following recovery and relief efforts:

• To contribute actively in the construction of housing of better quality and security.
• Humanitarian aid for the victims.
• Contribute to the reconstruction and transformation of health centers and schools, expanding and modernizing them, in coordination with Federal and State governments
• Contribute to the reconstruction of damaged markets, in coordination with local authorities.
• Structural protection to cultural heritage at risk, while it is restored by specialists under the direction of the Ministry of Culture.
