UBM plc and China Convention and Exhibition Society to Develop and Deliver Seminar on Global Best Practices In Online and Social Media Marketing for Chinese Exhibition Industry

BEIJING, May 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. David Levin, the CEO of UBM plc, attended the 2^nd China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) today and delivered a keynote speech at China International Conference on the Development of MICE Industry. UBM is one of the major sponsors for the CIFTIS Transaction Group for MICE Sector, one of the important components of the CIFTIS event.

During his speech, Mr. Levin announced that UBM would be creating and delivering a nonprofit-making public seminar to help bring Global best practices in internet and social media marketing to the Chinese exhibition industry. The seminar, proposed and supported by Department of Trade in Services of MOFCOM, is co-organized with China Convention & Exhibition Society (CCES) and will be available to small and medium-sized Chinese exhibition companies and to selected MOFCOM supported brand exhibitions in China. It is intended for mid-level managers directly involved in creating and executing online strategies to create better exhibitor and visitor experiences.

According to UBM CEO Mr. David Levin, "This seminar is our attempt to give something meaningful back to the exhibition community in which we work here in China. As a global organizer, we have learned quite a bit about how to utilize the internet and social media effectively and we think that by sharing it with our fellow Chinese exhibition companies, we can raise the bar for exhibitions across China, something that will make business better for all of us in this segment of China's dynamic and expanding, service sector." The launch of this program is the result of a number of discussions that UBM has had over the past year with representatives from both CCES and MOFCOM. For its part UBM has agreed to provide some of its top executives and talented online marketing professionals to develop the content and give speeches and workshops.

The seminar to be held in Beijing in December 2013 will be open to delegates selected and approved by the cooperating organizations to try to insure that the information will be provided to those companies that can make the best use of it to truly advance the state of the art in the Chinese Exhibition business.
