Ultrasound AI Partners with MedLatam to Expand Access to Life-Saving AI-Powered Prenatal Diagnostics Across Brazil

MedLatam will begin distributing Ultrasound AI's flagship software, Delivery Date AI, across Brazil, marking the first in a suite of obstetric AI technologies planned for the region. 

Ultrasound AI's patented technology, which integrates seamlessly into existing ultrasound systems, revolutionizes obstetrical imaging by leveraging AI to deliver an estimated delivery date range in as little as 17 seconds and flag early signs of complications undetectable by the human eye. This allows clinicians to identify and manage high-risk pregnancies sooner, even in mothers with no known risk factors, who make up more than half of premature births. The partnership with MedLatam ensures that Ultrasound AI's innovative platform will reach healthcare providers quickly, effectively, and at low costs to patients.

In 2024, the company received approval from ANVISA (Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária) to market its Class II medical software in Brazil, a milestone that has paved the way for widespread adoption of Ultrasound AI's predictive diagnostic technology, helping clinicians detect risks early and customize treatment across one of the world's largest and most underserved obstetric healthcare markets.

Brazil sees over 3 million births, and more than 6 million ultrasound scans each year. The nation also faces one of the world's highest preterm birth rates – nearly 12%, with over 300,000 babies born prematurely annually, according to Agencia Brasil, 10% higher than the global average. More than 60% of neonatal deaths in the country occur in infants born before 32 weeks. Ultrasound AI's innovative solution helps address this crisis by identifying the risk of preterm birth as early as eight weeks into pregnancy.
