Built within Unanimous AI's patented Hyperchat AI engine, (Co)agents™ are AI coworkers that participate in real-time group discussions by proactively surfacing the information and reasoning that human teams need to make smarter, faster, more informed decisions.
ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Unanimous AI, the world leader in hyper-communication and amplified group intelligence, today announced the launch of (Co)agents, a new product poised to redefine the future of enterprise collaboration. Designed to participate as authentic teammates in real-time group discussions, (Co)agents are collaborative coworkers that actively follow live conversations (by text, voice, or video) and strategically jump in with helpful information exactly when the group needs it.
In traditional meetings, important decisions are often made using only the knowledge and insights that happen to be in the room at that moment. Vital information often remains trapped in corporate databases, scattered across the internet, or possessed by stakeholders not in the room. By the time a team member leaves the discussion to search for answers, the conversation has already moved on.
(Co)agents solve this bottleneck by closing the knowledge gap from inside meetings. They are designed to support real-world business activities, from brainstorming and forecasting to evaluations and problem-solving. Unlike old-school chatbots that wait passively to be asked a question, (Co)agents are active participants that observe a group's deliberation as it unfolds, identifying gaps in knowledge or reasoning, and contributing relevant insights. And because they are powered by Unanimous' patented Hyperchat AI technology, (Co)agents can coordinate across communication channels, seeking and sharing insights from stakeholders across any organization.
"We reinvented what it means to collaborate in the modern workplace," said Dr. Louis Rosenberg, CEO and Chief Scientist of Unanimous AI. "With (Co)agents, we bring proactive AI coworkers into the dynamic flow of team meetings, delivering thoughtful insights with skillful group etiquette. (Co)agents don't just answer questions, they join the discourse, anticipating needs, challenging assumptions, and ensuring that teams have the critical information necessary to make well-informed decisions."
(Co)agents offer three distinct types of contribution to supercharge human teams:
- Knowledge (Co)agents: These AI coworkers proactively leverage organizational data sources to surface the information, reasoning, or evidence most relevant and useful to an ongoing discussion.
- Scouting (Co)agents: These teammates look outward, searching beyond the organization to retrieve and express current, up-to-the-minute information from the open internet during live discussions.
- Brainstorming (Co)agents: Designed to generate original contributions, these AI coworkers serve as creative catalysts, introducing unique but relevant alternatives the team has not yet considered.
Published research from Unanimous AI demonstrates that human teams deliberating in collaboration with interactive (Co)agents achieve better outcomes, enabling stakeholders to make smarter, faster decisions. In a 2024 study conducted by Unanimous AI and Carnegie Mellon University, 87% of human forecasters reported that their decisions were stronger because of the real-time information provided by the AI agents.
In a more recent study, (Co)agents were evaluated in a large-scale forecasting task in which 80 human participants and 20 proactive (Co)agents debated the 2026 World Cup and collaboratively predicted the outcome. The results showed that these human-AI teams achieved strong predictive accuracy, correctly forecasting Spain as the tournament champion, identifying Norway as a dark-horse contender capable of reaching the Quarterfinals, and accurately predicting Germany's early tournament upset.
Post-session evaluations revealed that the forecasters overwhelmingly appreciated the contributions provided by (Co)agents, with 90.9% of participants reporting that proactive (Co)agents were helpful to group deliberations and 98.7% of participants rated the agentic contributions as clear and concise. In addition, 85.7% of forecasters praised the timeliness of the agents' autonomous interjections without disrupting conversational flow, leading 87.0% of participants to conclude that proactive (Co)agents will become vital tools for human teams in enterprise settings.
Unanimous AI was founded in 2014 with the mission of keeping humans in the loop, ensuring that AI technologies amplify human intelligence rather than replace it. (Co)agents were designed to support this goal – informing teams without replacing human stakeholders. All (Co)agent contributions are visible, attributed, auditable, and open to challenge by any human participant. By remaining additive rather than authoritative, (Co)agents ensure that human teams maintain full control of the decision-making loop.
(Co)agents are currently enabled within Unanimous AI's Thinkscape® platform and support a wide range of tasks from group brainstorming and prioritization, to forecasting and problem-solving. (Co)agents are also available in beta for deployment into Microsoft Teams and Slack. For custom enterprise solutions, (Co)agents can also be deployed via API, embedding smoothly into proprietary internal tools.
Unanimous AI was recently awarded a contract from the U.S. Air Force to incorporate its powerful agentic technologies into Microsoft Teams (DoD365). To learn more about Unanimous AI, its unique patented technologies or its Thinkscape collaboration platform, visit Unanimous.ai.
