United Spinal Association Appoints Carol Khoury as Chief Financial Officer

NEW YORK, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Carol Khoury was recently hired as the Chief Financial Officer of United Spinal Association, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities for more than sixty years.

Carol has over 25 years of financial experience and demonstrated leadership and management skills for diverse organizations, including a Big 4 accounting firm, a not-for-profit, and a complex governmental organization. Ms. Khoury's significant knowledge of information systems, budgeting, and project management will be a key component to United Spinal's continued success.

Prior to joining United Spinal, Ms. Khoury was Chief Deputy Treasurer for Nassau County and played a significant role in improving County processes for countywide debt service, cash management and the issuance of financial statements. She also served as head of departmental human resources and was influential in maximizing staff productivity.

Carol was Controller for Resources for Children with Special Needs, Inc., which serves families of children and young adults with social, cognitive, physical, and behavioral needs, where she was responsible for all aspects of the accounting process, including private and government grant reports and financial system maintenance. She spearheaded the creation and implementation of the organization's accounting and donor database system and was heavily involved in the strategic planning and contingency planning process.

From 1979 to 1982 Ms. Khoury served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer and developed and directed a nutrition center for mothers with malnourished children.

Carol earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and Accounting from Queens College. She also attended St. John's University Law School.
