On June 27, 2014, Emerson Electric Co. (Emerson) announced that it is evaluating strategic alternatives for its Power Transmission Solutions business, which is based in Florence, Kentucky. The aforesaid business currently employs over 3,000 employees around the world, and recorded revenue of over $600 million in 2013. The Company stated that it continually evaluates the mix and competitive positioning of its businesses to maximize shareholder value, which may include adding or divesting operations.
