FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3: HOLIDAY SEASON IN FULL SWING
Profile America -- Friday, December 3rd. The holiday season is in full swing this weekend, with lights, decorations, and special events all across the country. Christmas candlelightings will take place in Coshocton, Ohio, with singing, storytelling and hot mulled cider. In Wahoo, Nebraska, Christmas on the Prairie will feature all the trappings of an old-fashioned holiday. Down in Galveston, Texas, Dickens on the Strand will highlight the city's Victorian houses. And in Florida, the Hollywood Beach Candy Cane parade will draw some 50,000 spectators. In among the celebrations, shoppers will be crowding the nation's more than 1.1 million retail businesses to get a head start on checking items off their holiday gift lists. You can find these and more facts about America from the U.S. Census Bureau, online at www.census.gov.
