FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24: HUNTING AND FISHING DAY
Profile America — Friday, September 24th. Two of the nation's oldest and most popular activities will be celebrated at a variety of events across the country tomorrow, during National Hunting and Fishing Day. The goal is for family and friends to join those who already love the outdoors, and share the pleasure of nature while learning how to conserve its treasures. Each year, more than 19 million Americans set out for forests and grasslands to hunt. More than 41 million others take their fishing rods and head for the nation's rivers, lakes, and shorelines. Anglers spend $2.2 billion annually on fishing tackle, while hunters spend $3.9 billion on hunting gear and firearms. You can find these and more facts about America from the U.S. Census Bureau, online at www.census.gov.
