USS Midway Museum Offers Free Admission to Fleet Week Big Bay Family Festival Attendees

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The San Diego Fleet Week Foundation is delighted to announce the USS Midway Museum will once again be a significant partner at the Fleet Week Big Bay Family Festival presented by the Port of San Diego.  The Midway will again be extending visitors to the Festival an incredible offer.  Stop by the Midway exhibit on Broadway Pier and collect a FREE admission ticket to the Museum (one per person present). 

The Fleet Week Big Bay Family Festival is a free, family-friendly event that will be held at Broadway Pier on the beautiful San Diego Bay on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  USS Midway Museum ticket quantities are limited and vouchers may be redeemed for a future visit (visitors are not required to use them the weekend of the Festival).

The Festival will also feature ship tours, military static displays, in-water demonstrations, live entertainment, and a children's fun zone.  Tentatively-scheduled ships available for tour are the USS Princeton (CG-59), a guided missile cruiser, and the USS Rushmore (LSD-47), a dock landing ship.  For more information on the Family Festival or other Fleet Week events, visit www.fleetweeksandiego.org.

The public should be advised that the following items are prohibited, and will not be allowed onto the pier or into the event area: food or drinks, large backpacks, oversized camera bags or large purses or weapons of any kind.
