ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Local business Valley Pawn Shop announces a raffle and drawing on December 31, 2015, to benefit wounded Albuquerque Police Department officer, Jacob Grant.

The item, a new I.O. Inc Sporter AK-47 rifle, is the only rifle of its kind that is completely American made; it comes with a lifetime warranty and has a retail value of over $700. One hundred percent of the raffle proceeds will be gifted to Officer Grant and his family. "At Valley Pawn, we are grateful for the sacrifice and courage of Officer Jacob Grant. During this season of giving, we feel that we have a responsibility to help those committed to providing safety in our city," says business owner Justin Bernstein.

On January 9, 2015, Officer Jacob Grant was shot multiple times while engaging in an undercover operation. Having been hospitalized for his life-threatening injuries, Officer Grant's family has incurred heavy medical bills, facing increasing financial hardship. Since this injury, Grant has been unable to work or fully recover. "When we heard that one of Albuquerque's police officers needed help, we decided to step in and do something about it," says Ian Schiefer, Valley Pawn's Firearm Department Manager.  "It's part of our ongoing devotion to helping our community."
