NORFOLK, Va., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- ValueOptions®, the nation's largest independent behavioral health care company, has received full Health Utilization Management Accreditation for seven of its regional service centers from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the industry.
ValueOptions® sought accreditation for seven of its service centers in this round of applications and, after comprehensive reviews, URAC accredited all of them. The accreditation is for the following ValueOptions® service centers:
- California Service Center, Cypress, Calif.
- Colorado Service Center, Colorado Springs, Colo.
- Great Lakes Service Center, Wixom, Mich.
- New York City Service Center, N.Y.
- North Carolina Commercial Service Center, Morrisville, N.C.
- Tampa Service Center, Tampa, Fla.
- Texas Public Sector Service Center, Coppell, Texas.
URAC is an independent, non-profit organization and a leader in promoting health care quality through its accreditation and certification programs. The URAC Health Utilization Management standards establish consistency in utilization management processes. The standards ensure that appropriately trained clinical personnel conduct and oversee the utilization review process, that a reasonable and timely appeals process is in place and that medical decisions are based on valid clinical criteria.
