VARCom President Danny Vargas Recognized as a 2011 Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal

Mr. Vargas is a well-known and widely-respected leader in business, politics and the Hispanic community. A U.S. Air Force veteran and former Fortune 500 executive, Mr. Vargas served as Chairman of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, the first Hispanic to chair a mainstream chamber in the history of Virginia.  He was recently appointed by Governor McDonnell to the Virginia Workforce Council and is a graduate of Leadership Fairfax.  He also launched a networking group for Hispanics in government contracting.

Danny was selected to be a founding national co-chair of the HIMSS Latino initiative (as part of a 50-year old industry non-profit), promoting the adoption of Health IT in the Hispanic community and advancing the quality and effectiveness of healthcare.

He is also now in the process of producing a new television show to change to perception of Hispanics as an underclass by highlighting the significant contributions Latinos make in positions of leadership, authority and influence affecting everything from the economy to national security and much more.

Coming from humble beginnings, he believes in giving back and being an effective community trustee.  Mr. Vargas is a congressionally-appointed commissioner on the National Museum of the American Latino Commission.  He served as National Chairman of a 35-year old political organization and is a member of the board of Northern Virginia Family Service (a non-profit helping struggling families).
