Vecima Networks selected as Hospitality Video Partner for Tier 1 European MSO

Vecima's Terrace DVB Platform to service commercial and business locations

VICTORIA, BC, Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM), an experienced designer and manufacturer of innovative network technology solutions, announced today that it has signed a supply agreement with a Tier 1 European MSO to expand its hospitality video services. The supply agreement covers Vecima's Terrace DVB product line, the latest edition of the Terrace family of products.

Vecima's Terrace DVB product, a version of its successful Terrace series of platforms which are used in over 20,000 hotels globally, has been selected to supply video to commercial and business locations of a Tier 1 MSO in Europe. Terrace DVB was a finalist in the Video Distribution Systems category in BTR's (Broadband Technology Report) 2017 Diamond Technology Reviews where, according to the judges, Terrace DVB "nicely fills a niche need in the commercial video market" by enabling DVB cable operators worldwide to effectively service their commercial accounts, providing bulk digital services more efficiently and cost-effectively.

The Terrace DVB Commercial Video Gateway is a multi-channel DVB-C (QAM) to DVB-T (COFDM) or DVB-C (QAM) decrypting transmodulator used for business to business commercial video applications. Demodulated MPEG transport streams are decrypted by DVB CAM technology and then re-modulated to the desired DVB‑T/C channel. The Terrace DVB can decrypt using 8 DVB CAMs and provides up to 8 DVB-T/C RF output channels to allow a full line-up of customized programming. By offering both SD and HD programming in the same chassis, Terrace DVB has the flexibility to adapt to emerging technologies as well as legacy formats.
