HOLBROOK, Mass., Dec. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Residents and businesses in Holbrook can now order Verizon's FiOS TV – the ultimate home-entertainment experience with a broad range of programming choices and superior picture quality.
The Holbrook Board of Selectmen on Tuesday (Dec. 14) granted a cable franchise to Verizon, authorizing video choice for thousands of households in the town.
The board's authorization brings to 110 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon's FiOS TV is available, or soon will be.
Verizon FiOS is the only TV service delivered over the nation's most advanced all-fiber network directly connecting to millions of individual homes and businesses, and providing customers with more channels, more high-definition programming, more video on demand and faster Internet speeds than old-fashioned cable TV.
Verizon is offering a triple-play bundle that features FiOS TV, FiOS Internet and reliable telephone service for as low as $99.99 per month.
In addition, new FiOS consumers who order a Verizon bundle as part of a two-year contract can take advantage of the Worry-Free Guarantee, allowing them to cancel their service within 30 days of the date of activation, with no termination fee.
"Holbrook is a new TV market for Verizon, and, at long last, our customers here will have a better choice for TV," said Bob Driscoll, Verizon sales vice president for the company's Northeast region. "Today, they join consumers in thousands of other communities in the Northeast and across the country in experiencing revolutionary TV. With Verizon's fiber-optic network, innovations like the FiOS TV multi-room DVR and on-screen Twitter and Facebook Widget applications offer customers an experience cable can't match."
Driscoll said that Verizon is spreading the exciting news throughout the community through print and online advertising as well as posting flyers and hosting local events.
FiOS TV offers more than 520 all-digital channels, including more than 125 high-definition (HD) channels in Holbrook – more HD channels than the area's current cable provider, Comcast.
"Our advanced fiber-optic network was built for HD, providing a high-def experience that cable can't touch," said Driscoll. "With all-fiber connections running straight to their homes and businesses, viewers get eye-popping, jaw-dropping TV in both standard and high definition."
