BACKGROUND:

One key reason for establishing Internet Safety Month was the enormous increase in time spent online by kids, who are out of school for the summer.  Parents are reminded annually to check on their kids' activities and their home systems to be sure they can block Internet access to inappropriate sites.  To recognize the effort, Verizon asked one of its key Internet security experts, Tom Adams, to offer his views on Internet safety at home.
