Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network to Expand in San Luis Obispo, California

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., April 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless today announced that it will expand the nation's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in San Luis Obispo, California, in the coming weeks. The expanded 4G LTE network will enable customers to use their wireless devices in more parts of San Luis Obispo to access the Internet faster; listen to music or watch video on their phones; use thousands of apps; and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.    

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is currently available in San Luis Obispo but with the planned network expansion, residents in areas such as Arroyo Grande and South San Luis Obispo areas will have improved access to the nation's fastest 4G network.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
