Verizon Wireless Regional President Appointed to Two Regional Boards of Directors

LAUREL, Md., May 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mike Maiorana, regional president of Verizon Wireless for Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, has been named to two regional boards of directors.  Maiorana now serves on the boards of both the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).  

As regional president of Verizon Wireless, Maiorana is responsible for regional sales, marketing, customer service, retail stores and expansion of the nation's largest wireless network.  He oversees a $3-billion-a-year operation and approximately 4,500 employees.

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit coalition of 800 businesses who employ more than 442,000 people in the state, works to maximize opportunities for its members and their employees to grow and prosper. The Maryland Chamber's board oversees the organization's policy and is comprised of top-level executives of all size and types of businesses in Maryland, from the Eastern Shore to Deep Creek Lake, from Southern Maryland to the Pennsylvania border. 

NVTC is the membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia.  As the largest technology council in the nation, NVTC serves about 1,000 companies from all sectors of the technology industry, as well as service providers, universities, foreign embassies, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies.
