Vero Fiber Begins Fiber-to-the-Home Construction in El Centro

EL CENTRO, Calif., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Vero Fiber has begun construction of a brand-new fiber network in El Centro, offering fiber-to-the-home internet services to residents, businesses, and schools. Vero Fiber provides reliable internet, friendly local customer service, and transparent, affordable pricing.

The project will be built in set zones all over the city with roughly 300 homes in each area. The initial construction area surrounds neighborhoods near De Anza Magnet School, located between South Imperial Avenue and South La Brucherie Road, from Ross Avenue south to Ocotillo Drive. Future construction areas include neighborhoods by Sunflower Elementary School and El Centro Community Center.

Vero Fiber CEO Sunita Krishna stated, "Bringing fiber internet to El Centro is an investment in the people and organizations that make this community strong. Bridging the digital divide will help local businesses grow and give schools and students access to more resources. We're excited to bring infrastructure to El Centro that can support the local economy and the community for years to come."

Through the referral program, residents and businesses can refer friends and family members to Vero Fiber service, and both parties will earn a free month of fiber internet. Vero Fiber also offers discounts through its Veros Heroes program that is available to firefighters, police officers, teachers, educators, healthcare workers, and first responders.

Vero's commitment to remaining hyperlocal in each community has been demonstrated through their fiber networks all over the state, including Arcata, Eureka, and Ukiah, California. Vero has hired 29 people across California and plans to continue hiring in the El Centro community. In 2025, Vero donated $13,000 to local nonprofits and a fire station, to pour directly back into the community.
