Viki Presents First Annual Global TV Awards In Partnership With Variety
Randall Park, Star of ABC's 'Fresh Off the Boat,' to Host First Awards Show of its Kind With Crowdsourced Voting from Fans Worldwide
LOS ANGELES, June 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Variety 2015 TV Summit -- Viki, the global TV site powered by fans, and Variety today announced the first annual Global TV Awards, the first awards show of its kind to celebrate the greatest achievements in global TV, film & artistry as recognized by fans from more than 200 countries. The event, hosted by Randall Park, star of ABC's hit show 'Fresh Off the Boat' and Sony Pictures' 'The Interview,' will be held on September 12, 2015 at The Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and streamed on Viki and partner sites.
Hundreds of the world's leading talent and influencers from Asia and Hollywood will come together to honor those who have contributed to the evolution of global TV and celebrate with fans from all over the world. The event is expected to draw more than 2,000 fans, sponsors and broadcast and press partners, resulting in billions of impressions. In addition to the live Awards show, the GTVA will include a red carpet event and VIP after-party.

The launch of the Global TV Awards was announced on stage during TUNE IN: Variety's TV Summit 2015, the popular annual event spotlighting what's new and noteworthy in the television industry.
