RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Virginia Business has selected Virginia Housing CEO Tammy Neale as a 2026 Women in Leadership awardee. The Women in Leadership Awards recognize top women executives for their professional accomplishments, civic engagement, mentorship and efforts to break glass ceilings. Honorees demonstrate strong leadership and determination that create lasting impacts on their organizations and Virginia as a whole.
Neale is one of the inaugural Rising Circle honorees, a distinction recognizing multiple‑year Women in Leadership winners whose continued accomplishments and leadership positively influence communities across Virginia. She was previously honored with the award in 2025.
"I'm grateful to be included among this incredible group of women that are driving positive change in Virginia," said Virginia Housing CEO Tammy Neale. "This recognition underscores the collective effort of our Virginia Housing team, whose daily commitment ensures our mission reaches the people and communities who depend on it."
Neale has served Virginia Housing for decades as an integral part of the organization. Before being appointed CEO by the Board of Commissioners in March 2024, she served as Chief of Programs, overseeing Virginia Housing's homeownership, rental, community outreach and federal programs. In her role as CEO, Neale leads daily operations and guides the implementation of the agency's strategic plan. She plays a vital role in advancing Virginia Housing's mission and strengthening its long-term impact on the Commonwealth.
"The 2026 Women in Leadership honorees are exemplary executives who are making significant contributions to their organizations and communities as trailblazing mentors who are encouraging future generations of professional women to pursue their own paths and ambitions," said Richard Foster, Associate Publisher and Editor of Virginia Business. "We at Virginia Business are pleased to recognize these transformational leaders."
Honorees were selected by the Viginia Business leadership team and will be recognized Oct. 6 at a celebration in Richmond. More information about the award and the full list of honorees is available at VirginiaBusiness.com/Event/WomenInLeadership/.
