Vision Airlines Announces the Release of the Fall Flight Schedule

Jun 25, 2011, 06:00 ET from Vision Airlines

SUWANEE, Ga., June 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Vision Airlines published its fall schedule and announced that it will be cutting service to a few cities.  Vision Airlines' Fall schedule is valid for flights from September 11, 2011 through November 13, 2011.  The company will release its winter schedule by August 1, 2011.  Vision Airlines has made the decision to discontinue service to a few cities where the demand has not met the company's expectations.  Vision Airlines plans to cut service to the following cities effective July 17; Huntsville, Savannah, Columbia, Greenville/Spartanburg and Baton Rouge.  Vision Airlines plans to add additional cities to the winter schedule and increase frequency to many of its destinations.

"We had high hopes for all of the cities we serve however, the demand in a few of these cities has not met our expectations.  We will discontinue the routes effective July 17, 2011," said David Meers, Vision Airlines' Chief Operating Officer.  "There are a variety of factors that went into our decision, but with high fuel prices, it is not prudent to continue to fly in markets that may take a very long time to develop.  We still offer a robust schedule of flights, and these few reductions will not significantly impact our revenue or passenger traffic.  Our low fares, great service and non-stop flights have allowed us to establish our place in the market and we plan to continue to build on this success.  We are currently evaluating the addition of a number of new cities that have solid passenger flow to Florida, Las Vegas and the Caribbean," added Meers.

Any affected passenger will be given the option of a full refund or offered the opportunity to travel from a nearby city served by Vision Airlines.
