Vital Link Orange County Partners with UBM Canon for Southern California Advanced Manufacturing Trade Show

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Vital Link Orange County is pleased to announce its partnership with UBM Canon to expand and promote Orange County's K-12 and Community College CareerTechnical Education programs.  This partnership will kick off at the UBM Canon Advanced Manufacturing Event from February 11-13, 2014 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Vital Link connects schools and area employers to align curriculum with the skills required by Orange County manufacturers. This collaborative workforce development initiative is part of a multi-faceted long term program to help resolve a chronic issue for manufacturers—finding qualified workers.

According to Vital Link Executive Director, Kathy Johnson, Vital Link is attending the Advanced Manufacturing Event to build closer relationships with local manufacturers and to showcase student projects coming out of high schools and community colleges. In addition, teachers engaged in technical education will participate in the event, holding meetings with exhibitors to encourage partnerships and corporate engagement with classroom programs and internship opportunities.

UBM Canon's Southern California Advanced Manufacturing Expo is an ideal location to provide the connection between educators and manufacturers. It is the largest comprehensive manufacturing tradeshow and professional development conference on the West Coast.
