VOX Global Adds Seasoned Political Strategist to Senior Team
Trey Hardin Brings 20 Years of Experience from the Front Lines of Campaigns, Capitol Hill, and Client Advocacy
WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- VOX Global, a bipartisan public affairs firm, has hired veteran Republican political strategist Trey Hardin to join its senior team. Hardin will serve VOX as Senior Vice President in the agency's Washington, D.C. headquarters, where he will lead campaigns for clients who are impacted by political, legislative, and regulatory outcomes.
"Clients today are looking for professionals with the unique combination of political and business instincts. Trey's instincts and abilities are well-documented in his successes on behalf of candidates, Members of Congress, and industry clients," said Robert Hoopes, President of VOX Global. "Our current and future clients will benefit considerably from his talent, his track record, and his network of relationships within the policymaking community."
Hardin got his start in the White House under President George H.W. Bush, and his political career took off from there. He directed statewide grassroots operations for a ballot initiative campaign in Arizona; from there, he jumped into Virginia politics, directing and managing successful campaigns for Senator John Warner, Congressman Tom Davis, and Governor Jim Gilmore. Hardin was then called to Capitol Hill by Congressman Davis, where he served as Communications Director, co-managed Davis's successful race for Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), and worked with him in his new capacity as a member of the House Leadership. Hardin went on to serve as Chief of Staff to Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham, a senior member of the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.
In 2000, Hardin was tasked by the Republican Leadership to play an active role in successful efforts to expand the Majority through two election cycles. Hardin participated in national redistricting efforts, was instrumental in fundraising for targeted races, organized war veterans in Congress to campaign in targeted races, and served in many senior-level strategy meetings at the NRCC.
Hardin then joined the private sector at the consulting firm NorthPoint Strategies as a Principal Partner. At NorthPoint, Hardin represented and counseled corporate and association clients on legislative, regulatory, and communications challenges.
Hardin is a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra.
Hardin joins a senior team at VOX, led by Hoopes, that includes Ann Davison, former senior advisor to Vice President Gore and EPA Administrator Carol Browner; Carey Tarbell, former Executive Vice President at Powell Tate|Weber Shandwick and former Executive Director of the National Journal's Policy Council; Trish Wexler, formerly of Powell Tate|Weber Shandwick and veteran advocacy coalition manager for legislative and regulatory campaigns; and Chris Matthews, former Communications Director on Capitol Hill for the House Agriculture Committee and Senator Gordon Smith.
