WanderbUS Embarks On A Cross-Country Journey To Introduce US Students To German Culture
The decked-out traveling exhibit, part of the Wunderbar Together initiative, will visit schools in all 48 continental U.S. states, bringing Germany to life through virtual reality, games and prizes
WASHINGTON, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The German Federal Foreign Office (FFO), the Goethe-Institut, and the Federation of German Industry (BDI), announce the launch of WanderbUS, an immersive traveling exhibit bringing German culture to 48 states over five months.
Launching March 5th in Washington, D.C., the WanderbUS will hit the road to visit high schools and universities in every state within the continental US. Staffed with a team of educational professionals, the tour will feature presentations, games and virtual reality tours of German landmarks including Hamburg, Nuernberg and Frankfurt. "WanderbUS is designed to highlight the deep historical friendship between our countries and introduce Americans from coast-to-coast to German culture, language and heritage."
WanderbUS is part of an initiative called Wunderbar Together, a yearlong celebration of US-German friendship across the United States. This year of friendship is bringing together over 250 partners to host more than 1,500 events across all 50 states.

WanderbUS is one of many Wunderbar Together programs. Also visiting cities and states across the country is Wiesn in a Box, an Oktoberfest-style traveling beer garden complete with beer, pretzels and Bavarian music. Small towns and major cities alike are also playing host to events ranging from art and cultural performances to roundtable discussions on job creation spurred by German companies with American operations.
