Webroot Achieves Significant Business Growth in First Fiscal Quarter

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Nov. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Webroot, the market leader in cloud-based, real-time internet threat detection, today announced business highlights of its first fiscal quarter, which ended September 30, 2014. Among the achievements for the quarter were continued revenue growth across all customer segments, growth in the channel, especially with managed service providers (MSPs), and significant new business. The company also introduced new strategic partnerships to expand its reach and distribution during the quarter.

Significant Year-Over-Year Revenue Growth
Sales results for the quarter showed strong year-over-year growth for Webroot SecureAnywhere® endpoint protection solutions and threat intelligence services across all of the company's target markets. Revenue for these solutions grew 11 percent in the consumer segment, 67 percent in the small and medium business (SMB) segment and 11 percent in the OEM segment compared to the first fiscal quarter of 2014. This new business resulted in the addition of about 900,000 new home users, over 6,000 new business customers and 850 new MSPs added during the quarter.

Channel Drove Expansion in Q1FY15
Webroot unveiled the new Webroot® Channel Edge® Reseller Program during the quarter. This improved structure enables Webroot to provide market-specific tools and resources to help its growing global network of value added resellers (VARs), distributors, service providers and systems integrators to increase their close rate and grow their business. The revamped Webroot partner program is another step in the company's increased channel focus which has driven double-digit year-over-year growth in the SMB segment.

In addition to the revised partner program, Webroot's increased channel focus has driven significant momentum, resulting in 315 percent revenue growth since the beginning of 2013, led by resellers, MSPs and distributors rapidly adopting Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business Endpoint Protection and Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business Mobile Protection to provide remote security management and administration to their customers.

Strategic Security Alliances
Webroot's first quarter growth was also driven by an integration with LogRhythm. The partnership integrates the Webroot BrightCloud® IP Reputation Service with LogRhythm's Security Intelligence Platform to identify threats more quickly and accurately. Webroot is also an inaugural partner of LogRhythm's Threat Intelligence Ecosystem, the industry's first collective of threat intelligence vendors focused on delivering unprecedented security intelligence via a next-generation security analytics and intelligence platform.

The Webroot BrightCloud IP Reputation Service is also offered as part of the HP Enterprise Security Products portfolio to enhance visibility into threats introduced to customer networks by corporate and employee-owned mobile devices. In addition, A10 integrated the Webroot BrightCloud Web Classification Service into the A10 Thunder Application Delivery Controller (ADC) product line, improving performance, efficacy and compliance of SSL traffic decryption.
